The initial region is thought of a biodiversity hotspot; the presence of each migratory and resident aquatic birds, along with the constant support of ornithologists, tends to make this wetland excellent both for active surveillance of AIV in birds and the atmosphere, and for gaining deeper insight around the ecological aspects of AIV in their all-natural reservoirs. Fourteen diverse field samplings have been organized in Valle Figheri inside the period 12 November 2020 February 2021 (Table 2). Valle Cavallino, CGS 12066 dimaleate Cancer situated within the northern Lagoon of Venice, was also incorporated inside the activity for two field sample collections in February 2021, following the proof of HPAI viruses in some backyard poultry farms. A total of 521 dabbling ducks had been tested and in detail 419 captured birds had been seized in the trapping web site of Valle Figheri, like the ET, Ga, and Ma species, whereas 102 captured aquatic birds caug.
